FECIN has been supporting the Elshadai Orphanage in Tigray, Northern Ethiopia for several years providing them with some of the equipment they need. We have been able to pay for a Water Pump, new beds, lockers and shelves, laboratory equipment and school lavatories there. We provided bonuses for the staff when people in government employment had their pay increased. This one-off, stopgap measure prevented loss of staff. Some of our members experienced in creating theatre sets visited Elshadai in 2015 to help paint walls with cheerful pictures. This proved so popular that staff took over the project and carried it forward.
